Lyndee Knox, Ph.D.
Lyndee Knox, PhD worked as a clinical psychologist for 12 years, and was an associate professor of Family Medicine and director of research for the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Southern California for 10 years. Currently she is CEO of LA Net, a primary care practice-based research network located in Los Angeles and focused on the safety net and health disparities reduction. Dr. Knox is also a founding co-director of the Southern California Center of Academic Excellence on Youth Violence Prevention, is a Senior Research Associate for the AAFP’s National Research Network, serves on the steering committee for the Federation of Practice-Based Research Networks Steering Committee and the National PBRN Resource Center Advisory Group, and is a Director for the National Health Foundation (NHF). She has served as consultant to or collaborated with organizations including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the InterAmerican Development Bank, the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization.
Dr. Knox’s areas of expertise include the use of peer support interventions to improve outcomes in chronic disease and other health related areas. Currently she serves as PI for a Peers for Progress funded study to replicate and evaluate a successful peer mentoring intervention to provide self-management support to elderly and low-income patients with Diabetes. Dr. Knox also serves as senior advisor to the government of Trinidad and Tobago on an IADB funded project to implement peer mentoring in 22 communities across the country.
